So its been a long time since I have been active on the site and have not really been making a whole lot of noise on any forums lately so I figure I will bring everyone up to date as to what I have been up to. Lets go back a year or two,As most of you remember I had my Burgundy 91 Turbo Targa running great (even made a CCS meet in it shortly after its rebirth). Well the car ran great for 1500 miles on its fresh rings and bearings and stock ct-26 etc and was generally speaking a blast to drive around, However on the way home from work one evening the car suddenly started missing pretty badly on number three. After getting it home and doing all of the diagnosis I could do with no problem found the decision was made to pull the motor and look deeper for a problem. Once the motor was out I discovered that somehow one of the screws that retains the throttle blade had backed out somehow and had a play date with my number three piston, somehow getting lodged in between the piston and the block making for a less than ideal scenario inside my engine. So the car got parked And slowly but surely my disgust for the lost money and time got to me and the car got parted out to the almost bare shell that sits in my yard now. A few months after that incident I ran across a turbo B20 civic hatch and picked it up for a very reasonable price. The civic brought back the fun of owning a turbo car and never left me stranded even took in to TX2K9 with me and had a blast in it. After returning from TX2K9 I was offered a trade deal for a 11.3 second DSM for my civic and I simply could not pass it up, So I get the DSM and daily drive it for a few months but quickly grow tired of the alternator problems, overheating and other small quirks about the car, I put the DSM up for sale and its gone within the week. So while in the market for a new toy I call rob (raiden92t) up and he tells me a few quirks his mk3 is having and I offer to take a look for him to help out with his busy schedule. I fix the a/c and replace the battery and instantly fall in love with the MK3 again. Later in the week I call Rob we have a long discussion which leads to me making an offer on his Teal mk3 which he accepts.
Now Back in a MK3 and loving the car again, daily drove it for probably 4 months then the clutch begins to slip, no biggie I pull the motor to do some seals i wanted to replace anyway but my dad has other plans! After hearing me talk about wanting to eventually put a JDM 2JZ-GTE in the teal 92 he comes up with the plan to swap my 7M drive train from the 92 into his 88 shell and we start my swap after his runs.
So that is where I am at currently Dads car now has my old 7M inside of it awaiting a few odds and ends to button it all up, And my garage is filling up with 2JZ parts for the 92. I plan to order an aristo 2JZ and convert it to a big single setup right away to avoid the firewall "modifications" to the mk3, as I only want to do things that could be reversed it i ever wanted to go back all stock for some very odd reason. I will keep you all updated as both cars progress in their build stages. Look forward to catching up with you guys soon and look for my dad in his 88T
P.S. My girlfreimd just bought an auto 87 last week that has a BHG so looks like I have got the whole family addicted.
Thanks
